Healthy Oatmeal Cookies that are just 4 simple ingredients.
Oats are among the healthiest grains on earth.
According to studies, it has many health benefits such as weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease.
They are gluten-free and a great source of vitamins, minerals, fibers and antioxidants.
These cookies are low in calories as they don’t contain any flour, eggs or additional sugar, making them healthy enough to eat for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (approximately 3 small bananas)
- 2 cups rolled oats or instant oats
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate pieces or raisins (or both)
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a large bowl add mashed bananas, oats, cinnamon powder, dark chocolate pieces or raisins. Stir until evenly combined.
Scoop cookie batter and place onto prepared cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Use your fingers to press down and flatten cookies. Cookies will not spread during baking so shape the cookie batter to your desired cookie shape.
Bake cookies at 180 c for about 10-15 minutes. Let cookies cool completely before removing from baking sheets.
- Note: If you are only using raisins, drizzle honey on top of baked cookies for that extra sweetness.
